About the 5 day untutored Workshop
It was just the five of us that booked to go on the course with Ton Mead where he generously shared his process, both conceptually from personal to impersonal, and his thinking process, composition, and use of materials. It was a lot to digest and so extremely informative and inspirational. Plus to was a lovely group of folk.
On the back of this Tom is looking at dates to return to teach another course early next year, and in the meantime I thought it might be useful to have a focal point in time, something to work towards. Regather ourselves in October and create some more dioramas together. Bring along any work we have done since Tom’s course .
All materials will be provided except for any boards/gesso boards/canvases etc so that you can choose your own ground and size.
It just seemed like a way of giving ourselves a date in time by which we need to develop some work by and come and gather to discuss and support each other.
The five days is also open to anyone who would like to have a go. It’s making a narrative in 3d mainly out of cardboard, plasticine, cut outs in 2d from magazines and from photos printed out. Any other materials can be used and ready mades such as toys etc. The possibilities are endless. Plus it is great fun!
What is provided?
All equipment, cardboard, paper, paint, palettes, brushes are provided. Just bring your own boards, gesso boards or canvases to paint on, and feel free to bring any favourites materials and equipment of your own. A selection of teas and coffee, organic milk and plant based milk, plus a selection of treats are also provided.
