About the Sunday Life Sessions

Our Sunday life drawing sessions are majority untutored with a tutored workshop taking place once a month, and take place in a warm and friendly, down to earth environment. Beginners through to experienced practitioners welcome.

Most often our untutored life drawing sessions will take the format of first thing in the morning some very quick poses of 1 minutes to five minutes to get warmed up followed by some ten to twenty minute poses. then pose mid morning break we will have a long pose for an hour or 1 hour 20 mins depending on when we break. This long pose will be continued throughout the afternoon session, giving those of us who want to engage in a more considered drawing or to paint an opportunity to do so.

Gradually we are attempting to diversify and be more inclusive and vary what we do. To that aim we have our lovely life model Dave leading a Shibari ( Japanese art of rope tying) life drawing day, a drag Kinglife model, and at some point will be having a pole dancing life model, two female models posing together and models who are transgender, and some who have physical disabilities. We have a long long way to go…..but are reaching out.

We also have our tutored workshop sessions each month:

Duncan will be teaching anatomy for life drawing whilst getting us to explore a variety of materials. You can find out more about Duncan here.

Kate will be teaching a variety of workshops including monotype life drawing, working from the clothed figure, colour etc. You can fin out more about Kate here.

With all sessions, as we are voluntarily run, everyone will be expected to stay for 20 mins or so and help pack everything up. Many hands making light work.
