About our Single Pose 3 Dayers.
These monthly untutored single pose sessions take place either over 3 days. They take place in a warm and friendly, down to earth environment. Beginners through to experienced practitioners are all welcome, though booking in advance is advised as spaces as limited to six per session to ensure ample room and good vantage point for all attending.
Time will be spent at the beginning getting the model in an interesting yet comfortable pose in an environment conducive to those including it in their composition. There will be ample opportunity to move and find a position giving you something of interest to sustain you for the duration.
We will agree on a playlist of music for the session that will assist us getting into a flow state. Usually our talented Grant is DJ and open to requests, but anyone attending can suggest their own playlist. Our fabulous models are usually good to sit for approximately 30-50 mins at a time. So we can have lots of shorter breaks including one longer break mid morning and mid afternoon.
Whilst we all wish for the model to be in exactly the same position after every break it is almost impossible to completely satisfy absolutely everyone all of the time. The main thing will be to get the torso of the model in the correct position that is comfortable and get the limbs in as relatively good position relative to the torso. Sometimes this can mean moving an inch or two ourselves to try and get exactly the same view. We will facilitate people getting as close to possible the same view but time will limit how long this can go on for each time as it cuts into painting time.
With all sessions, as we are voluntarily run, everyone will be expected to stay for 20 mins or so and help pack everything up. Many hands making light work.
What is provided?
We have drawing boards and easels and tables to out your equipment on . Please bring your own drawing/painting materials and grounds and brushes etc. A selection of teas and coffee, organic milk and plant based milk, plus a selection of treats are also provided.
